Good News/Bad News

Good news: I really did get out my sewing machine
Bad news: While searching for my sewing kit and scrap fabric, I found 3 chocolate marshmallow santas..and ate them all, blowing my diet one more time!
Good news: The owners manual told me what all of the parts were and they were all nicely labeled.
Bad news: It would be nice if the owners manual told me immediately how to get the packet out from under the feeder.
Good news: I have a 14 year old daughter who has had a little experience with a sewing machine
Bad news: Should we have to lay the machine down on its side just to thread it?
Good news: Taylor figured out how to thread the machine. Can there be anything harder than threading a bobbin for the first time??? I never thought of myself as dumb but if you saw me with this thing...LOL
Really good news: I actually sewed some stitches!
Now I need a REALLY SIMPLE project. Ideas, anyone???

  1. Thank goodness for discoveries of forgotten chocolate and kids. My kids are lapping me in the world of technology. Now I call them for help.

Good luck on finding a project. I love crafts, just wish I had more time and more of the crafty gene.

  2. Forgotten chocolate, yum yum. I've been wanting my mom to teach me how to sew! Craft time is the best.

  6. Hi,
Thanks for signing up to follow my little blog. I just signed up to follow yours too.
I so need to get back into sewing. It looks like you are well underway. Good luck with what ever you choose as your first project.
    Nice to meet you.

  7. Thanks for stopping by and reading through some of my posts. I am glad the Lord used something I wrote to encourage your heart!! I had the same feeling you expressed as my guys were growing up, but something much deeper than sibling rivalry was being built into their lives, although at time it did not look like it! God intends for us to build generational faith families, but at times it doesn't look good!

In case you are interested, I teach a Bible study for MOMS with kids from toddlers to teens and beyond every Thursday. It is live online on Thurs. at 10:45 CT and then the messages are archived. You can see them (Moms Spring 2009) at www.bellevue.org (and follow the prompts from Watch Archived Messages). We are currently studying Philippians about Joy in the Journey. Check it out sometime. I think it would encourage your heart and strengthen your resolve to keep pressing on in the Lord. Blessings.
