When my girls were little, we used to have theme parties at least a few weekends a month. I can't tell you how many times my husband came home on Friday night to a "luau" or "Fiesta". One of our favorite parties was during the month of march...a "Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss" party.
We decorated with Seuss hats we had made, we created bracelets and necklaces using red, white and black beads with clay seuss hats we also made, ate green eggs and ham(scrambled:-) read Dr. Seuss books and watched The Grinch and made a lopsided, colorful, crazy cake...similar to this...
...straight out of Whoville. Parties are fun and in our house, were NOT just for birthdays:-) If you look at a calender, you'll see all kinds of special days that you can turn into a party.
I promise, your kids will LOVE it!:-)
