Christmas Must Be Something More...

Have you heard this song yet this Christmas season? I love all Christmas songs but every year there seems to be a new favorite to add to the list and THIS IS IT! It's performed by
Taylor Swift..

...and with teen girls in the house, we hear a lot of Taylor Swift! (And thank you, Miss Swift, for performing such easy to sing, clean and age appropriate songs!) Anyway, here are the lyrics... please read them and turn up your volume because it is on my playlist!
Have a wonderful day!!!

Christmas Must Be Something More

What if ribbons and bows didn't mean a thing
Would the song still survive without 5 golden rings
Would you still wanna kiss without mistletoe
What would happen if God never let it snow
What would happen if Christmas Carols told a lie
Tell me what you would find

You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to the Birthday Boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

What if angels did not pay attention to
All the things that we wish they would always do
What if happiness came in a cardboard box
Then I'd think there was something we all forgot
What would happen if presents all went away
Tell me what would you find

You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to the Birthday Boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

We get so caught up in all of it
Business and relationships
100 mile an hour lives
And it's this time of year
And everybody's here
It seems the last thing on your mind

You'd say that today holds something special
Something holy and not superficial
So here's to Jesus Christ who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something more
There's gotta be more
There's gotta be more

XOXOXO
Suzanne

  1. Good Morning Suzanne...
Oh my gosh, is this ever beautiful. What a wonderful concept, a young person with a song that you can actually understand the words to, without them screaming through the whole thing. She has brought back my hope for our future.

Thanks for sharing sweetie. Please stop by soon. I love it when you visit. Country hugs...Sherry

  3. Hi Suzanne,
Oh yes I agree about Taylor Swifts music. I listen to country music mostly and I love that her songs are so appropriate for the young people to be listening to. I think that she is a gifted writer and and a good role model.
I loved getting your sweet comment and no the sweater wreath was so easy. I just cut the sweaters in strips (through the seams and plackets and everything) and wound them around the wreath using differing lengths of sweaters so that there was lots of different texture to it. I pinned them in place and then wound some vintage lace around it as well until it finally looked the way I wanted it to.I think I started over two or three times till I got what I wanted. Good luck. I know you will love it.
    Hugs,
    June

  6. Hiya Suzanne, and boy isn't she something. I tell you from the get go I adored Taylor Swift. What a wonderful and swesome role model for tenns and all young ladies. For us older gals too. She is indeed pure in her lyrics and seems to be so pure in spirit too. Thanks for sharing with us, Mollye

  8. Taylor writes some beautiful music and I agree about her being age appropriate. How nice that your girls have a positive role model in the public view. So many times that's not the case. I hope your daughter is feeling better and you all have a wonderful evening!

  9. What a great song! I am so glad that teens have a good role model in Taylor Swift. That is what I love about country music too, that they are not afraid to sing of God and Jesus Christ!
Thanks for sharing and stopping by and dropping me a line. I can't wait to come back and take a look around. Love your girls, too cute!

  11. I love Taylor Swift and I love this song. Ever since my husband and I have been together, we have decided that we are only doing 3 presents each. It such a great tradition. we focus on christ and being together as a family rather than all the "stuff" that you get during christmas. this song is a great reminder! :) xo!

  12. Hi Suzanne,

I was listening to the Christmas music on Sirius radio with my children when this song came on. What caught my attention was the she mentioned Jesus Christ. Right away I looked up to see the artist singing and much to my surprise it was Taylor Swift! I don't know much about her, but I'm impressed with someone in the limelight, that young, evangelizing! Praise God!
    Blessings,
    Vicky
