Resting and Nesting...

Sometimes it's good to do a little resting.

And nesting.

Yes, I do believe it's time for this Shabby Chick to take a blog break.

For awhile I haven't felt terribly inspired.

When your blog stops being fun and is one more thing you feel guilty about...

it's time to step back.

Not for good.

Maybe not even for long.

But a break.

I'll still be around sometimes, visiting YOU!

And I do have a few posts already scheduled in the next few weeks.

But no more looking at my world...

and wondering how it will look on my blog.

At least not for awhile:-)

For now, time to take pictures for the sheer joy of it.
(although I may try to catch up with my photo blog, Shabby 365:-)

My girls are in need of a mom who is 100% focused.

Focused on them getting the most they can out of school.

Maybe I can help them more with their blog,
Blondes in the Kitchen
For Taylor especially, she could turn a good blog into school credit.

Focused on watching them dance and play tennis...
rather than planning the next blog post.

Yes, it's time to "unplug"...

I realize that the blog world is a fickle place.

Out of sight, out of mind.

But I believe I have the BEST blog friends!

I do, right??? hahaha

Anyway,

In the next few days, weeks or even months,

this is what I hope for......

A time to Nest...

Relax...

Hangout...

Reflect...

Imagine...

Play...

Create...

Read...

Appreciate...

So there you have it.

For the near future,

when I wake up in the morning,

it will not be to worry if I have time to post something on my blog.

It will be with this thought...

See you soon!

XOXO
Suzanne

  1. Suzanne I admire anyone who knows when it is time to step back and take a break. You are so right about your daughters needing 100% of your focus. They grow up so fast. Good luck and enjoy and hope you come back to us when you are ready.

  3. Those all sound like very good reasons for a blogging break. How cool that Taylor can turn her blogging hobby into credit for school! I love it.

We will be missing you for sure, but I will be praying (as always) for you my dear and hoping that it is a great break for you and all who you love!

    Blessings!

  12. Well said honey and true friends, why you just can't get rid of em and who would want to? They're the ones who put no pressure on you and understand what your needs are and support your decisions. I think we bloggers sometimes get our thinkin caps on sideways and begin to put so much emphasis on pleasing our readers as if they are paying us royalties on our newest publications. WRONG! It's so easy to lose scope of what the beginning plan was.

We'll be right here when you come back and we'll even do our own nesting and resting from time to time. And if our readers have flown the coops while we were nesting well, that just means new chicks will soon take up where they left from.

    Don't worry........be happy. XOXMollye

  13. Suzanne,
Thanks so much for the great bunny swap gifts! Loved all of it! We do think alike, because a lot of those things were in the basket that I sent to my swap partner! Have a blissful rest! I will as well, and hope to blog with you later! Best Wishes! Tracy

  14. Hi Suzanne! Thank you for popping by my blog this morning to say hello and give a little sunshine! I understand the blog break. It sounds as if your leading is to really jump in with those close to you, giving them your sweet attention. I think we love feedback in a world that's often too busy to fill that need. I love the connecting with others and I can tell you do, too. But, keep putting your original loveliness up for all of us. It's good.
