a lil' pink and shabby. . . . .

hello chickies!
it's been awhile since i had a pink post here on shabbychicks.
and since i believe you can't have pink
 without having shabby,
let's get our shabby pink on!
oh wait. . . . .
first i need to remind you about the
Origami Owl Giveaway ending tomorrow.

seriously. . . .i don't like to call people crazy,
but you are if you miss out on this:)
xoxo

NOW it's time for some
shabby and pink stuff that caught my eye recently. . . .

oh.my. goodness. GRACIOUS!
look at this gorgeous pink ruffle duvet and drapes. . . .
with bows, at that!
i wish i knew where exactly they can be found,
but i think it is on etsy.

i just love the vintage jewels on this frame. . . .

this next photo is a dream for any pink lover out there.
so pretty, shabby and sweet.
someone really special and girly must live here, right?
guess who's house this is????
i'll give you a few clues. . . .
~she can be kinda loud.
~she was on Cheers
~she danced with Max on Dancing with the Stars
~well, she did her best to try and dance:)

figure it out yet?

this house belongs to
Kirstie Alley!

i am NOT kidding!
this is her vacation home in Maine.

don't you love it?
i don't know why this just tickles me.
probably because it's so delicate looking.
i don't know.
but Kirstie?
of Kirstie and Max?
hahaha
it just makes my day:)

moving on. . . . .
i'm sure there's a bit of photo editing going on here,
but no matter.
the effect is stunning!
looks like a cotton candy tree:)

i leave you with this. . . . .

be blessed,
Suzanne

Cool Stuff. . . .Like Vintage Jewelry and Lemon Merengue Pie Dip!

so guess what?
i actually made the vintage jewelry project i'm going to show you!
i didn't just stalk other blogs but made them myself:)
baby steps folks, baby steps!

i love collecting vintage jewelry to re-purpose into
cool jewelry for today.
and not just vintage. . . .there are great pieces of
 vintage-like costume jewelry out there
just begging to be made into something unique.

but this time, i didn't make repurposed jewelry,
but something way simpler. . . . .
 magnets!
(these can be made with cool buttons or scrapbook goodies too:)
all you need is a magnet back and E6000 glue
and about 15 minutes (plus drying time)
and TADA. . . . .
you have a set of awesome magnets!
well, what do you think?

Okay. . . .next, i could use some help.
i have a bunch of these flower cabachons and could make
so many cool things,
but what do you call the gold filigree backs they are glued on,
and do you know where I can get them?
if you know, please email me or comment.
thank you!!!

now, i just don't seem to have it in me to NOT leave you with something
amazingly yummy
(fattening)
to eat.
(or devour:)
so when i saw this lemon merengue dip from
Ashton at Something Swanky,
i had to share it!

and. . . .if you gain weight, you can blame her, not me.
i'm just the messenger;)
mmm. . . .mmm. . . .mmmmmmm

if i were you,
i'd hightail it over to her and grab the recipe!

bye for now. . . .

eye candy...

definition:   something that is INCREDIBLY pleasing to the eye.
something you just can't stop staring at.

now, i THINK the term "eye candy" came about to describe a VERY
attractive person...girl OR guy.
so for those of you who want THAT kind of eye candy,
i give you Mr. Phantom of the Opera himself...
Gerard Butler.

i know...SERIOUS eye candy:)

actually, i have a board on pinterest that is just for eye candy...
STUFF that is so amazing, so beautiful, I don't know where else to file it.
my vintage glam, shabby chic, dreamy creams and whites and stuff i love boards have
lots of eye candy too:)
so i thought i'd share some of my favorite eye candy with you.

STUNNING!

 vintage jewelry

pretty and pastel...for spring!

LOVE the pillows!

more cake...
can you call this cake?  or are these works of art?
one thing for sure...they are EYE CANDY!!

and one of my favorite eye candy photos...of course...
those cheeks!:)

personally, i think even food is eye candy sometimes.
TOO MANY times:)
white chocolate lemon truffles.

White Chocolate Lemon Truffles

  • 1 cup white chocolate
  • 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 3 Tbsp. heavy cream
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • icing sugar, for dusting
  1. Melt chocolate, butter and cream over a double boiler or in a microwave. Stir until smooth.
  2. Stir in salt and extract. Allow to cool slightly before covering with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm enough to handle.
  3. With a melon baller or small spoon scoop out mixture and form into 1 inch balls. Toss with icing sugar to coat.
  4. Store covered in the fridge for up to one week. Freeze for longer storage.
Makes: 24
* Using unsalted butter allows you to control the salty flavour of these truffles. The pinch of salt helps to cut through the sweetness of the white chocolate. If you decide to use salted butter make sure to omit the pinch of salt called for in the recipe or they will be far too salty.
* If you want to amp up the yellow color, stir in some yellow food coloring along with the extract and salt.

lastly, if you notice, i have a new "print this" button at the bottom of my posts.
just trying to make life easy for ya:)
CIAO...
