Oh How Pinteresting!!!

being the ginormous pinterest fan that i am,
it seemed about time i joined in on
"How Pinteresting" wednesday, from The Vintage Apple.
surely y'all know that pinterest is a go to site to store your favorite images,
find TONS of new ones and get some extremely COOL ideas!
well, the idea here is to share a few things that caught my eye this week.
tough...because about 500 things caught my eye:)
but i'll try!

okay, I've had my eye on this purple armoire for awhile now.
why can't I be brave enough to do this?!?
i already have the chocolate walls, so why not?
it would be so AMAZING!
and it would also be the last crazy thing i did as a married woman because
my husband would be OUTTA HERE after he saw it:)
oh well.....maybe not purple.  maybe aqua, or pink:)

i LOVE cute cuff bracelets.
and what could be cuter than these embroidered cuffs?

now i know i need a happy little camper trailer of my own.
look how cute this one is decorated.......
i could live here:)

okay, i REALLY want to do this at Christmas.
face it, this is a lot less work and HYSTERICALLY funny.
to me, at least:)
attach a card that says
"Merry Christmas from the Ding Dongs next door".
hahahahahahaha

 and how cool is this.....
recycled light bulbs,
painted with nail polish, strung with a few beads and
VOILA!
omg...don't you just wanna run and jump on this
AMAZING water balloon slip and slide?
now.....i wouldn't wanna fill them or clean up,
but i would give it a running jump, for sure!!!

see, the bad thing about pinterest is it makes you want things you can't have......
like another baby girl, so i can deck her out in these ADORABLE shoes!:)
oh well.......granddaughters some day, maybe:)

last but not least.......
this one is for YOU!

that's it for now.

Beach Life.....

confession time.......
i don't really have anything major to talk about.
WAIT...i never have anything major to talk about.
but today, there is even less.
yet i miss my blog and want to post something.
and since we're headed to the beach,
how about some beach related STUFF.

in a nutshell.....
all you need for a day at the beach.

while doing whatever you have planned on a hot saturday,
something to think about...

(photo of the Naples Pier:)

okay, you know that after the trip to Hawaii,
surfing is in the blood around here.
even i feel it.
the trip and the surfing experience was so cool.
(hey, i took one lesson anyway and would do it again:)
the lifestyle is so beachy and relaxed.
anyway, there aren't waves in south florida like they have in Hawaii.....
but every now and then mother nature kicks up a few.
and Jordan saved enough money to buy a surfboard from a friend:)
Happy Day!

did I ever post this next surfboard pic?
I must have posted it somewhere because we've gotten
 some inquiries about it.
someone is even considering it for an ad.
pretty cool:)

lastly, because the beach is calling my name,
my all time favorite summer appetizer.
i first had it at a pampered chef party YEARS ago.
it's still a favorite.....
Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips!

recipes are all over the internet,
but you can tweak it how you like.

Fruit Salsa with Baked Cinnamon Chips

Ingredients:
2 kiwis, peeled and diced
2 apples - peeled, cored and diced
8 ounces raspberries
1 (16 oz) carton of strawberries, diced
or basically any fruit you like!
2 tablespoons white sugar (more or less to taste)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (more or less to taste)
3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor (I prefer apple jelly))

10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
melted butter or butter flavored cooking spray

Cinnamon sugar:
1 cup white sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3.Coat one side of each flour tortilla with melted butter or butter flavored cooking spray. Sprinkle tortillas with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Spray again with cooking spray (not necessary if using melted butter).

4.Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit mixture. This salsa can also be serve with cinnamon graham grackers or cinnamon pita chips. Best when made and eaten the same day otherwise the fruit gives off so too much juice and it gets runny.

that's it from here!
enjoy your weekend!!!

Cool Summer Treats and Cool Stuff to Do in the Heat of Summer!

Happy Monday Morning to you!
Looks like it's going to be another HOT one.
Coming from south Florida, we're used to the miserable
heat and humidity.
the only thing we have going for us in the summer heat
is that it isn't the busy tourist season......
so we can park at the beach, go to the movies when we want,
go out to dinner without a reservation a week in advance,
get places quicker...and that's about it.
Otherwise, we are suffering right along with you.
so how about some FUN for these red HOT days?

The kiddies are gonna love some of these drinks!
just in time for July 4th.....
A red/white/blue kiddie
Firecracker!
3 ounces fruit punch
3 ounces blue Gatorade (not sugar-free)
3 ounces diet 7-Up or Sprite (must be sugar-free; so diet only)
ice
Fill glass 1/3 full with ice cubes. Pour fruit punch almost (but not quite) to top of ice cubes. Fill another 1/3 with ice cubes and slowly pour blue Gatorade almost to top of cubes. Fill final 1/3 ice cubes and slowly pour sugar-free Sprite. Add straw and voila!

or check out this super easy kiddie drink.....

let's see.....what should we call this one?
something with rainbow in it, obviously.
you make up the name......cause your kiddies are gonna love it, and you will too.
it's SO refreshing!
Rainbow Blast
Freeze different fruit juice in ice trays and put in glass.
Pour sprite over ice cubes. That's it!

if you're feeling artistic, because these are so pretty.....
you could make some summer fruit cookies!

Hopelessly.
Addicted.

yikes...this is good!
make a batch and chow down while looking at this list of FUN things
to do this summer.....

or if you would rather psych yourself out with sone
"SNOWBALLS",
then you have to try these...

Lemon Snowball Cookies
1/2  cup lemon drop candies
1  cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2  cup powdered sugar
1  teaspoon grated lemon peel
1  teaspoon lemon extract
2 1/4  cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/4  teaspoon salt
Additional powdered sugar
Directions
  • Heat oven to 400ºF. Crush lemon drops in food processor or blender. In large bowl, beat butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, the lemon peel and lemon extract with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, 1/4 cup of the crushed lemon drops and the salt.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake cookies 8 to 9 minutes or until set but not brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet; roll in powdered sugar. Cool 10 minutes; roll in remaining crushed lemon drops. Cool completely on wire rack, about 30 minutes. Reroll in crushed lemon drops if desired.

if you have a pool, sprinkler or plain old hose...
just go out and get wet.
that always works to cool off in the summer heat:)
