Wrapping it up...

gosh...i can't believe it's Friday already.
time to wrap up another week.
ever feel like you lose track of what day it is?

okay, here goes another example of my very random mind...

our little Southern Belle Tutu Shoppe
(that's what we call it these days:)...
is booming!
want to know what we'll be doing the next month or so?
making tutus!!!
 all of a sudden we have orders for:
28 Sugarplum tutus
20 Nutcracker Tutus
13 tutus for a local shop
4 flower girl tutu dresses
1 Dalmatian tutu (Halloween costume)
YIKES----66 TuTus!
it's going to be a house full of TULLE:)
moving on...
a few things i've been meaning to write about.

if you have a teen, help out with a youth group, anywhere you influence teens...
make sure they've seen the movie Soul Surfer!
 we've watched it a few times and also have her devotional.
it's about Bethany Hamilton, the surfer who lost her arm to a shark
a few years back.
 what a beautiful christian young lady with an even MORE
beautiful testimony!

one of the Shabby Chicks favorite new TV shows...
The Picker Sisters.
 Yeehaw...it is SO much fun!
2 best friends from the south, opening a home decor store in Los Angeles,
and to fill the store, they hit the road and"pick up" junk...and I do mean JUNK...
take it to LA and with the help of their carpenter, make cool
and VERY unique items to sell in their store.
They meet the funniest characters along the way...
it's just a cute, fun...clean show.
can't beat that now can you?

now, can you say PINTEREST?
oh yes, i waste WAY too much time there I'm sure...
but if you do something with even ONE of the many cool ideas you find there,
you're doing pretty good.
i'm actually thinking of making a blog meme thingy
called "pinterest party" where you link up a blog post of
few favorite photos for the week from pinterest.
what do you think?
if only I knew how to make a blog button for it...oh well!
okay, it's tough to choose but here are a few of mine for this week...

funny...

 this is me:)

sweet...
 i soooooo want one of my girls to get married in a barn...
and Maui can be their flower girl! :)

about Faith...

 acorn donuts...glazed donut hole, chocolate frosting on one end with choc. sprinkles and a pretzel stick.  So cute and yummy!

  LOVE the bench and the sweet saying...

 to die for chandelier!!!!

well, that's all she wrote!
i'd love to say i'll be back tomorrow but we all know how that goes so just in case...
have a GREAT weekend!

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Tickled Pink...

Yep, I'm TICKLED PINK at the great response to my
Pink Picnic Giveaway for Pink Saturday!
Better than that, I've "met" so many new and wonderful people.
And I am so grateful for my loyal buddies, too!:-)

HOWEVER...
I am PINK WITH EMBARRASSMENT that I have not been by to see YOUR blogs this weekend...
But I will!!!
PROMISE!!!
Before I post anything else on my blog.
(Except for the winner, which I will post later today:-)
THEN, I will take a day...or two...
to catch up on comments and visit my new followers.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT!!!!!

Okay, this is why I got sidetracked this weekend...
At the last minute, I got a rush order for some of my Hawaiian tutu's.
Just like this...

I probably should have said no...
but I couldn't!!!
Not when the Mom requests so sweetly for her little girl's 2nd birthday
party...a LUAU!
So, I spent the weekend cutting tulle and sewing on the flowers.
These MUST be in the mail first thing Tuesday morning.
So that's what I've been up to.

Like I said...
I'll be by to wish each of you a belated Happy Pink Saturday,
to say HEY to old friends...
and get to know some new ones!

I hope you're all enjoying this Memorial DAY Weekend!

Pink + Easter = Pretty

Well, the title pretty much says it all...
Today is about pink for Pink Saturday...of course.
And Easter decorations which always include...pink!
Put them together and you have some pretty little things!

Let's see...where to start.
How about with my sweet feather tree...
which starts as a Christmas tree,
gets decked out in hearts for a Valentine's tree
and is now my pretty little Easter tree.
I might just keep it around all summer
with some glittery seashells hanging on it:-)

As you see, shells are already a part of the tree.

How sweet are these little chicks in their nest?

We moved across the state a few years back...
some of us more willing than the rest (I didn't want to move:-)
Our last week there, my daughters found this nest lying by the side of the driveway.
I took it as a sign that maybe it was time we leave this nest and build a new one.
It's all how you look at it, right?

Country Living is awesome!
They can make Easter eggs into works of art.
See for yourself...

Okay...I did promise more tutu prettiness and you know it:-)
My girls must be so happy I wasn't into making tutus when they were little.
No doubt they would have been all over town in tutus.
I get happy just thinking about it!!!:-)

Not Easter but still pretty in pink...
My flea market heart box filled with my vintage jewelry.
Love, Love, Love it!!!

Finally...the perfect shade of pink.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Beverly from How Sweet the Sound was our gracious host again this week.

She asks us to introduce a blog we recently found so I would like to introduce my new friend
Teresa from Blossoming on Bainbridge.
Teresa is a precious lady and you will be crazy about her too
once you stop by her blog.
Be sure to introduce yourself to Doogan.
He is one adorably handsome little doggy:-)

5 Things I am Happy for Today...

1. First of all, I am happy I haven't lost my mind.
For those of you who know me well, this marks day 4
(well, day 3 1/2 if you're counting:-) of a very long month.
And losing my sanity is a very real possibility.
In fact, I might be close. Really close!
But I am happy it hasn't quite come to that.

2. Biscotti! Seriously...morning coffee + biscotti = Happy day!!!
(I even considered naming my dog Biscotti.
Cute, huh?
Except he turned out to be a 65lb goldendoodle...

not exactly how you picture a dog named Biscotti:-)
Anyway, I tried to make it once but it didn't quite turn out.
I love the gingerbread/white chocolate flavor but it's hard to find these days so
if anyone has a recipe for ANY biscotti, preferably a foolproof one,
please let me know.
I will be your new best friend!!!!

3. I am happy that I might be raising my very own Martha Stewart.
(well, in all the good ways:-)
Taylor loves to cook and reads all kinds of cooking blogs,
as well as sharing her own baking blog with her sister.
I'm convinced she is Martha's most loyal reader.
She subscribes to every cooking and crafting email by her that she can.
And look what she made this weekend, thanks to you know who
(No, not me...Mrs. S:-)
Tissue Paper Pom Poms!!!

Sooooo cute...
Don't you love creative people?
And now I have one of my own! Yea!!!

4. I am happy that Jordie decided to make dinner one night, searched the cookbooks for a new recipe, found one in my old cooking light book, tweaked it a bit to make it her own...and voila!
A new family favorite!!!
It's called Ravioli Soup...and it is Yum-my!!!!!

Recipe:
1 (14 1/2 oz) can stewed tomatoes, chopped up a bit (with juice)
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can ft-free low sodium chicken broth
3/4 tsp italian seasoning
3 cups ravioli or tortellini (we use Buitoni mini raviolis)
1/4 tsp ground pepper
Shredded Parmesan cheese
***You can add any seasonings to spice it up and of course, various veggies if you like. (Zucchini works well)
This is Jordie's version...and it is simple and GOOD!
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add ravioli and any veggies if you choose. Bring to a boil then cover and reduce heat to a simmer for 7-8 minutes or until pasta is tender.
***Add some crusty french bread and a salad and you will have a wonderful comfort food dinner!
P.S...while googling images of ravioli soup because I forgot to take pics, I saw many recipes for this dish. I have to say though, this one is probably a bit lighter than most and has only a few simple ingredients, such as Buitoni ravioli, so that makes it super good in my book:-)
5. And what makes me happiest today????? BABY NEWS!!!!! My niece Kristin is expecting a baby this Fall... and this is how her adorable little boys told us.

So exciting!!!
Now clearly she (and Jeff, of course:-) have a way with cute little boys... but since I am in desperate need of some tutu models... it might be easier to convince them to help me out if they had a girl:-) haha
See...
really happy news!

Pretties...

I love Etsy.
So much that I could spend hours and hours in the shops,
wishing for everything I see.
It has to be the most inspiring place ever for people who love to create.
So with Valentine's Day just a few weeks away,
I thought this would be a perfect time to show you some pretty things I am loving right now, courtesy of the talented sellers on etsy.
Who knows, maybe you'll see a little something for the sweethearts in your life...
or for you!

~~How sweet is this hat from Lilyknitting. It's shown on a doll but if I remember correctly she has them for real live baby dolls:-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've always loved these scrabble tile pendants. Tried making them once and realized I should leave this to the experts, like Spoiled Royal Girls. I want one of these...with a pic of my puppies. Bet you thought I would say my girls, huh???:-) I want one of them, too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~Then there is this pretty necklace. Seriously, I could be happy having all of my jewelry from talented people like Art of Silver. This one is engraved with the words "Always my Mommy, Now my friend". Sniff, Sniff...very sweet!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, there is very little I love better than pretty chenille fabric...especially when it is made into a pretty chenille bear. Stop by Mamas Zoo and see for yourself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Are you ready for some very cool, rustic, shabby looking jewelry?
I.Love.These.Cuffs!!!!!
Oh my gosh...Can you see this with a white shirt and a pair of your favorite worn in jeans?
The Brown Eyed Fox really knows what I like:-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alrighty then, are you ready for the cutest labels and recipe cards EVER????
Little Beane Boutique also has adorable note cards, invitations and address labels)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know from personal experience how awesome these pom poms are because my girls have them hanging in their room. They come in every gorgeous color you can imagine, courtesy of
Orange Kisses shop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for the sweetest, prettiest thing I have seen in a long time...and the hat is precious too:-)
This is a knitted Kiss Elf Hat, from Good Golly, Miss Molly.
Miss Molly, I just want to know where you find a baby that cute!!!:-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And last but not least, look at this precious tutu.
Oh my gosh, it is as sweet as a box of candy hearts.
Oooh...this is embarrassing.
I just realized it is in MY etsy store. hahaha...shameless, I know!
Hey...at least I didn't link to it:-)

Hope I sweetened up your day with some pretty little things from etsy.
XOXOXOXOXO
