"OH HECK" . . . . . .Hocus Pocus Buns, Babies, Fat Belly Puppies and MORE!

before i start, i kinda think i may have done a post like this before.
but my head is a bit foggy with the flu, so if i have,
please forgive me.
but i got to thinking,
i may not feel like writing any major post,
but i can always share a few favorite "pins"
from Pinterest with you.

these are from a board i have named
i chose this name because they are pics or ideas for things that
are very cool/beautiful/unique.
things that make you simply say
here we go. . . . .

Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake.
mmm-hmmmm
if this doesn't make you say oh heck, i don't know what does!

the recipe was too long for me today, so if you go to the King Arthur's Flour site,
you can see it all unfold.  YUM!!!

so Sweet. . . . .
Four-year-old Paige Bennethum really, really didn't want her daddy to go to Iraq. So much so, that when Army Reservist Staff Sgt. Brett Bennethum lined up in formation at his deployment this July, she couldn't let go. No one had the heart to pull her away. (www.nbcphiladelph...)

simply stunning!

another special story,
about a man and his best friend. . . . .

seriously, i think i might pass out if i went to a wedding reception and saw these
mismatched, ruffled, bejeweled chairs.
OR, a little boy walking down the aisle carrying THIS sign. . . . .

this is just too stinkin cute and precious and beautiful!
and if my girls were little,
this message would be on their wall pronto.

and cause we love cute babies,
here is an oh heck picture of a baby:)

one more yummy treat for you (and me:)
HOCUS POCUS BUNS
Marshmallows dipped in melted butter, then cinnamon sugar, wrapped in crescent rolls and baked. They're called Hocus Pocus buns because the marshmallows disappear! YUM!

now, what kind of post would this be without an adorable pup?
especially one with a fat belly!!

lastly, a thought for your day. . . . .

so. . . . .did anything make you go "oh heck"?
hope so!
what would life be like if you never saw something that made you smile, drool or just plain
be at a loss for words:)

we MADE our costumes:)
for the most part.

but there are such doggone cute ones out there now,
i probably would be buying them these days.
here are a few for your viewing pleasure.....

hmmm...very clever, but cooking a baby?
yikes:)

some VERY cute ideas!

so while surfing around the web,
i found some cool ideas...
and thought i had to do a blog post about them.

all are ideas i would have done or am planning to do.
take a look...
i absolutely LOVE the idea of a monogram on the front door.
nice change from a wreath;)

i'm not sure what i love more...
the extremely cool and clever craft table or the FLUFFY white POOF!

when my girls were little, my mom always told me to
write down cute little things they said and did.
i did...but not as much as i WISH i had!
this book would make it so easy to remember.

and speaking of books...
what a great idea to have a journal through the years.  If you set a goal of just 5 letters to each other per year, what a precious memory book you would have!

SO CUTE...ribbon curtains!

okay...the most amazing, stop you in your TRACKS idea yet...
 okay...admit it.
this idea stopped you in your tracks, right?  lol
seriously, this one is for my nieces...
(except Kristin.  your boys may not appreciate it:)
but here is advice from your aunt sue...
DO THIS...DO IT NOW!!!
i would give anything to go back in time and do this with my girlies.
do it for me...PLEASE:)

this next one falls under the category of
someone had the sense to figure out a way to
store cupcake liners and make a cute kitchen accessory at the same time:)

MOM...this one is for you!
don't worry...i'll come up in the spring and help.
but you have a fabulous old wheelbarrow just BEGGING for this:)

(all photos found on pinterest.  thanks clever people!)

Bunnies, Chicks and Eggs..

...cute ideas for EASTER!
wish I could say they were all MY ideas but...
you would know better, right? hahaha
good thing we have MARTHA and some incredibly talented people to
INSPIRE us!
one of my favorite memories from childhood was
coloring easter eggs.
even though it TOTALLY stunk up the house with vinegar...
and even though I HATED boiled eggs at the time:)
but it was tradition and it was FUN!
so here's to decorated easter eggs...
hmmm...eggs, yes.
shredded paper basket...probably not this year.
but COOL, huh?
okay, how EASY is this...
white eggs with glittery stickers ($1.00/pack at Walmart:)
          eggs tied with ribbon...
(even I can handle this one:)

one guess who colors eggs in similar shades and decorates
with pretty designs...
YEP...Martha:)

this is a GREAT farmhouse chic idea...
straight from the pages of Pottery Barn.
how simple to put letter stickers or stamps on plain white eggs!

 these are adorable...
but WAY beyond my knitting capabilities.
maybe some of you could make them.
and good news...they'll still be fresh NEXT year:)
how fun are these little guys?

and if you go to the dollar store and buy those cheap plastic eggs,
just look what you can make!
cute egg cookies...
now THIS looks good...and EASY!
and did I say TASTY?
you know, I have made and bought elaborately decorated cookies
through the years.
but sometimes I think they don't taste quite as yummy as they look.
just my own experience:)
but a simple sugar cookie recipe and easy frosting is all you need here.
so let's get baking!
unless, of course, you're super talented like
Bakerella...then you could make bunny cake pops!
or how about these ADORABLE bunny cupcakes...
so cute!  what do you think they used for the ears?
(just trying to figure it out so I can make some:)
OOPS...at least half of my blog post didn't come out so
all I can say is...BUMMER!!!
and stay tuned for part 2:)

XOXOXOX

AWWWW...

so if you've read my blog at any time in the past,
you must know that
I LOVE MY DOGS!

it's true...
there are many days when they are my BEST friends.
make what you want of that one but they are just pure affection, loyalty, and FUN!

so you know I was terrified when, while teaching my daughter about
checking pupil dilation,
I shined the light on my Freddy-Bear and saw that one eye was dilated and did not
constrict when the light hit it.
I knew that was NOT right.
all night long, I could only find BAD news online regarding this.
mostly a brain tumor.
oh brother...I've heard those words myself, last summer.
now my sweet little guy...my greatest fan in the world?

so we went to the vet the next day.
she knew what I was thinking and brought out her vet-medical book
to show me there was another option.
after looking at his eye with her instruments, I could also see what she
was referring to.
he has a little tear (hole) that prevents his eye from
constricting in sunlight.
  NOT a tumor.
BUT...have you ever had an eye exam and had your eyes dilated?
if you go out in the sun without sunglasses, your eyes just burn until the pupils
can constrict again.

so...what to do?
well, the vet said to walk him in the morning/evening hours mainly
(my little fluff ball doesn't like long walks anyway.)
and if we DO go out in the bright sun,
he needs sunglasses.
SUNGLASSES!

you've heard of goggles, right?
well, these are called DOGGLES...
and they are Freddy's new shades.

oh yeah...he is one cool dude!

the first time he wore them, he would walk 2 steps, stop and try to get them off...
walk a few more, stop...
yesterday he wore them for 15 minutes straight so we're getting there.

his favorite way to wear his new shades...
on top of his head, of course.

now you know why this post was titled "awwwww":)

if you can stand it, here's one more pic of my guys.
every time I go into my bathroom to shower and get ready to go out...
they wait by my door.
sometimes I take longer than they would like but still they stay put,
sneaking in a little nap but staying close...

just in case they get to come too.
talk about living in hope...
talk about giving me a GUILT trip!!!
GEEZ guys, I can't take you everywhere!
but trust me, I would if I could:)

lastly, Freddy does not have a new wig...
but he does have Maui's tail on his head:)

(sorry...just thought it was time for a "puppy post":)
yes, sometimes they are a pain.
a BIG pain!
but they are always cute...
always a part of the family...
and they love me even when I'm in a grumpy mood..
and write grumpy blog posts, like yesterday:)

have a good one...
