So, I chucked the dishes, laundry and cleaning
to have some fun with craft projects...
just in time for Pink Saturday.
I bought a little iron scrolled candle holder and found a pretty plate at a thrift store...
glued them together with epoxy and voila...
a lovely little cake plate!
I know...kind of basic but for my first one, not bad:)
Then, inspired by one of my favorite blogs,
I started playing with some shells and starfish.
A bit of paint, glue and glitter...
and they're pretty in pink!
They look good enough to eat.
Even Freddy think so...
(Now if you visit the O.C. Cottage, look at all of her beautiful glittery goodies...
but please don't compare.
She has made glittered starfish into a fine art form and clearly,
mine are simply an afternoon craft project:)
But it's a start...and I DID have fun!
And we all need a bit more fun in our lives, right?
Hope YOU have fun visiting all of the ladies from Pink Saturday.
You can find the list of everyone participating at the beautiful blog of our host,
Thank you Beverly!

Hi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI think it will be great fun for your daughter to make the teacup candles she will have so much fun and you as well :)
I always start out helping my daughter on a project and end up taking over, it ends up so much fun making candles :)
Let me know how your daughters candles turn out :)
Have a creative weekend both of you :)

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun and easy project! Love those pink glittery starfish. I think no one glitters like the gal from O.C. Cottage. She has the system DOWN! Happy Pink Saturday Suzanne!
ReplyDelete*You left a comment on All That Jazz a few days ago about the paint color on a bedframe. I think the color is called Jamaican Aqua from Behr. I lost my paint chip but am pretty sure that was what the color was called. I got it at TheHomeDepot. Everybody loves that color! By the way, I just sold the bed yesterday, finally!
I love your beautiful creation, it's just gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing... Happy Pink Saturday!

Your cake plate is adorable. I would have never thought of gluing them together and I'll be sure to check out your source on the shells. I love shells and these are great. I hope I can find out what kind of paint you used. Terri
