Fall, Mom Caves and...I'm Back. ALREADY!!!

Okay, before i get started,
let me say i think i'm back on this here 'ol blog for good.
I tried switching to wordpress and it's just too much for this fried brain
to figure out.  Who has time for that?
This will be just fine.  I'm tired of the address but.......I'll survive.
The main reason I tried the move was because I was starting to hear
of friend's blogs going missing.  THAT would be a bummer.
I realize I probably have 3 readers and that's cool.
But it's MY blog and it shouldn't go missing.
Having said that, I guess I'll have to take my chances:)
But I'm still changing the name to CRAZYBlessed.......cause I am.

Movin on.......
I've spent a lot of time indoors this steamy summer.
Tired, so not getting much done.
But I did manage to make myself a
MOM CAVE!
It's done in whites and creams, with touches of burlap, glitz, and RUSTIC.
I love rustic chic these days!
Totally me.
I finally found MY style:)
Here are a few individual pics to show you a few more details.
My daybed, complete with twinkle lights:)
A few sale items here...
the star pillow was from Pottery Barn.....$14.99.
Not bad!
I made the cowprint pillow.  (I know, it looks like it:)
The burlap bulletin board......my inspiration board.....was $10.00.
Yep!  Ten whole dollars from the White Elephant here in Naples.
Regular $199 from Ballard designs.  (Tags still on:)

I have my little writing corner......to do what, I don't know.
But it's there if I need it!
Check out my COOL deer head.
Another SCORE!
Hard to see detail but it's a faded burlap quilted look, by Cynthia Rowley.
HomeGoods strikes again! lol
Been making a lot of embellished mason jars.
They make great holders in bathrooms, kitchens, on desks.......you name it.
There's something about an old fashioned jar wrapped
in burlap, lace or twine and adorned with jewels or even seashells.
And look at this vintage sewing chest.
Apparently it was used to hold thread and other supplies.
My daughter found it at a thrift store and since she never has much money
on her, it was CHEAP!
(She's stocking up for those Southern Rustic Weddings she'll be doing someday;)
A closer look at some of the different jars and bottles.....
And don't miss the gold pumpkin and gold tipped feathers........
cause what home is complete without gold tipped feathers?
hehehe
 and last but not least,
we can't leave out a touch of the beach.
Or in this case,a HUGE metal sign!
We found it at the flea market.
I'm thinking I will poke holes and add lights to make it
 a marquee sign.
I'm kind of hung up on fringe in every way so I need to add a touch of
that when I find it.
There is also a cool vanity with a vanity stool covered in.......
you guessed it!
Cow print.
I need a ranch.  In Texas.
But for now, I'll settle for my Mom Cave.
Thanks for visiting.
YEEHAW!

from shabby to rustic. . . gorgeous bedrooms to drool over!

oh. my. gosh!
don't you love looking at pictures of
 beautiful bedrooms?
makes me want to jump right in the picture and
 plop myself on the bed
with a good book and a mug of cocoa:)
i found a few awesome rooms
and while i should just let the pictures speak for themselves,
i think i might have to ramble about my
favorite things in the room.
sorry:)

 do you love it?
this one is the room i might most be able to duplicate.
here's what i love about it:
1.  THE MATCHING DOG BEDS!!!!
oh my goodness. . .those are too cute:)
i need them!
(for real:)
2.  the white shabby chic furniture.
mine looks similar but is dark wood.
(i see a painting project in my future:)
3.  love the walls (mine are chocolate too)
and the dark hardwood floors
basically, i love it all:)

oh. heck.
check this out. . . .
this room must be a display in a store,
cause it's a bit jam packed. . . .
but with amazing things!
i love:
1.  the number boxes
2.  the color/decor scheme of rustic chic.
3.  the art work...don't you love it?
4.  the chandeliers
5.  the pillows (especially the burlap ones)
6.  the touches of paris
7.  and everything else:)

makes you want to say. . . .

here's another rustic, chic, romantic beauty of a room!

love the. . . .
 1.  beams (although i'd probably wack my head:)
2.  the canopy
3.  the chest
4.  the white bedding
5.  the stone wall

i always wanted an attic bedroom. . . .
and looking at this, i still do!

1.  love the color scheme (again)
2.  the stenciling on one ceiling
3.  the windows/window treatment and beams

how about a room fit for a princess. . . .

hmmm. . . .what's not to love, right?

this next room isn't a bedroom
but i had to share.
it's small, but cozy.
and goes to show you can have a lovely white room. . .
and make it cozy with shabby chic sofas,
lots of pillows and quilts.
love. it.

okay, can i show you one more thing?
i love, love, LOVE this white bathroom with
pink accents!

i bet i could put my make up on much better in this room:)
how about you?

see any rooms you like?
is there a room makeover in your future?
tell us about it so we can drool about your new room, too:)

have a very, merry, BURLAP Christmas.......

so y'all probably know by now i am totally
hooked on burlap these days!
(part of my rustic chic mood:)

and if you read this blog last December,
you know i have a huge WHITE Christmas tree
that i adore!

but i've never had a tree skirt that made me happy:(
until yesterday.
good ol' Homegoods.........
for the bargain price of $20 i found a burlap and cream/white tree skirt
with embroidered flowers on it!

YAY!!!!!!!
i know i recently did a blog post about burlap,
but here are some ideas for a burlap Christmas.........
isn't this just soooo PRETTY?

i think burlap wreaths are so unique and unexpected.....

same with burlap stockings......

burlap pillows are great too.....

this one has snowflakes on it and is GORGEOUS,,,,,
but i bet a cheap, easy way to jazz up a burlap pillow is with a lace doilie.....
even if you have to glue it, like me:)

these basic trees are just wrapped around styrofoam cones and glued.
simple and rustic as is, or embellish to your hearts content:)

LOVE these burlap bags.
i saw some at oriental trading for CHEAP and just stencil on a tree!

last but not least, some burlap bows would be an AWESOME, super simple way to
make your Christmas decor a bit rustic chic...like me:)
(well, not that i'm rustic chic but i'm decorating a bit rustic chic.  hahaha)

 adios for now, my friends!
enjoy the season!!!
yep, that's me:)

Rustic Chic Turquoise Decorating.........

Okay, the news these days is quite sad.
more than sad.....downright tragic.
so on this silly lil ol' blog,
let's get back to mindless, simple,
hopefully happier stuff,
without ever forgetting what others may be
 going through.

let me tell you about my latest decorating obsession.

and my favorite color,
which is darker than aqua yet with similar tones.........
what i call rustic chic turquoise.
i totally love it.
it works with any decor, in my opinion.
and in particular, works in my home.
i just don't have a whole heck of a lot of it.......

but i will be adding touches here and there as i find it.
have i written about this current obsession yet?
i kinda feel like i have but..... OH WELL:).
 in a nutshell,
using my white sectional as a starting point,
this would be my idea board.
complete with the happy cow:)
look at all the cool things pictured here.......
from the awesome table to the chair, armoire, FAUX cow hyde rug
to the pier 1 lamp and the amazing pillows.
and the floor.....can't get more rustic than that!

and so you know, i have been eyeing this cow at Z Gallerie for some time.
i love the colors but most of all,
i love the happy cow.
(i've always loved cows.....those big cow eyes are so sweet:)
and can you guess what this painting is called?
the
HAPPY COW!
don't you love it?
okay, don't feel bad if you think i'm crazy.
that just means you are siding with my husband in sending me to the crazy farm;)
hahahahaha
moving on to some other items i love......
this rustic turquoise bed and side table is stunning in it's way.

these dining room cabinets are so pretty!
and how gorgeous is that touch of lilac paired with the turquoise.

this necklace and bracelet set, while stunning,
is just an example of how everyday items can serve as decor inspiration.
don't you think?
hey.....trust me, i've bought things telling my husband i needed them
because they were inspiring me.
it works:)

this next thing, i am SO doing ASAP!
i have a rattan chair that was very comfortable but lately
we feel it's not so anymore.
so i've been thinking and thinking.....what kind of chair would we like?
then i remembered i have two studded, faded leather chairs downstairs!
so i'm going to cover the cushion and add some cool pillows.
i can't wait!!!

i love this little sign.......
the lettering and distressing is just the right shade.

this vase is so pretty.....mixed with the fall flowers.

well, there you have it.
my obsession with rustic chic turquoise.......
and don't forget the happy cow:)
hope you're having a great Saturday!
