how to live...

i've spent the past few days in the critical care unit of the hospital,
visiting my dad, who is on his FOURTH week in there.
I finally feel brave enough to say
i think he is on the upswing.
actually, i think he is a walking, talking miracle!
really...a MIRACLE.
thank you for your prayers...
and if you don't mind, please keep praying.

because i've been around hospitals...
and very sick people,
when i came across this, it really struck a chord with me.
i want to live this way...
and after you read it, maybe you will too.
it is by a lady named Marjorie Pay Hinckley.
please read it...i think you'll be glad you did.
“I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car,
wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed,
and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels
from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt
from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails
from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks
and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
what a wise lady!

God Bless...Suzanne

  1. praying for your Daddy and you too.

I don't know when you did the blog facelift, but it's so unexpected. A change from the pink and white I've visited in the past. I love the aqua and orange, and the fall theme with the pumpkins.
    Lookin' good girl!

  5. Minha linda Bom dia!
    Beijinho.
